Gary Wiener is Of Counsel at the Houston office of Resnick & Louis, P.C., where most of his cases involve third-party insurance defense litigation. Gary is a subject matter expert regarding electronic discovery, with extensive experience in legal technologies and legal search query creation, topics on which he has written and spoken nationwide. He has practiced at the state, federal, appellate, and administrative levels, as well as mediation and arbitration.

Gary's career as a litigation and trial lawyer has taken him from arguing civil rights cases on behalf of the Texas Attorney General, to employment law practice in Austin and insurance defense in Houston. He then spent 15 years developing expertise and thought leadership in the emerging field of eDiscovery, particularly the identification and use of electronic data as evidence in litigation, and has written and spoken extensively nationwide on the subject. Gary has managed complex civil litigation matters from case inception through trial and appeal, and takes pride in his ability to provide top-tier legal representation, with personal attention to his clients.

Gary received his Bachelor of Journalism and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of its Board of Advocates. He is a former Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law Committee (Young Lawyers Division) and served on the boards of the Austin Young Lawyers Association and the Houston chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals. In addition to his litigation and trial work, Gary has served on the editorial boards of the Texas Bar Journal (State Bar of Texas) and The Houston Lawyer (Houston Bar Association) magazines. He is an active member of several fraternal organizations and donates his time for various charitable causes. Gary and his wife Karen enjoy cooking and travel.
