Jane Ann E. Whitchurch focuses her practice on commercial litigation, general liability, auto/trucking litigation and employment litigation in courts throughout New Jersey, New York and in federal court. Jane Ann has garnered significant civil litigation and trial experience over the last twenty seven years having represented large national insurance companies, a national ride-share company, product manufacturers, public utilities, public entities, large self-insured corporations and high net worth private clients in connection with significant and catastrophic personal injury and product liability cases as well as with commercial, construction and employment related matters. She has served numerous times as an arbitrator in connection with UM/UIM matters on behalf of a large national automobile insurance company and has assisted with SIU investigation and defense as well as with insurance coverage issues for various insurance carriers and private clients. She also previously managed the workers’ compensation department at a mid-size firm in addition to her role there as a panel trial attorney for a national carrier.
While attending Douglass College, Rutgers University, Jane Ann was selected for the Honors English program, earned a dual B.A. degree in English and Political Science and received Certification from the Spanish Language Department. At New York Law School, she was a writer and editor for two law school textbooks on remedies and environmental law authored by Professor David Schoenbrod. Jane Ann also co-authored and co-edited a chapter on products liability in the Matthew Bender® legal publication, “Doing Business in the United States” (1995.) Before entering into private practice, she was a legal consultant to the marketing department at OppenheimerFunds, Inc. in New York City.
Jane Ann served as the NJ chairperson of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee for a national insurance defense firm and authored their firm-wide DEI statement. She also recently presented as a guest speaker at Montclair University Feliciano School of Business and is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Planning Board in Woodcliff Lake, NJ where she resides with her family. When not practicing law, she spends her time with family and friends, at the beach and in New York City. She also enjoys live music, skiing, golfing and traveling.
