Scott Goldstein is seasoned trial attorney with significant first chair experience and numerous reported jury verdicts. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, hospitality and retail defense, class action, premises liability, SIU, first party property, professional liability (attorneys, design professionals, architects & engineers, accountants, real estate brokers, healthcare providers and other licensed professionals), environmental and pollution experience, specifically through UST pollution cases, asbestos cases, and construction defect matters in federal and state courts.
Scott represents individuals, corporations, limited liability companies and other businesses, insurance companies, managing general agents and third-party administrators in complex business disputes. He litigates insurance defense matters, employment discrimination actions and defends professional liability and errors and omissions claims asserted against attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers and design professionals, real estate agents and brokers, insurance agents and brokers, physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers.
Scott has successfully analyzed and litigated complex breach of contract, RICO, corporate law and fraud claims. He defends and prosecutes EPL, D&O, labor law, contract, construction and construction defect, premises liability, negligent security, product liability, commercial transportation and surety lawsuits. Scott has won defense verdicts in jury trials in several complex lawsuits including, but not limited to construction defect, premises liability, retail defense, and general liability cases.
Scott was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Brandeis University where he graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics. Scott received his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in 1995 Following his graduation from law school, Scott has been a partner at two other prominent law firms in New York City and New Jersey.
Scott is admitted to practice before the courts of the states of New York and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. He is admitted to and has argued appeals in the Third and Fourth Circuits of the United States Court of Appeals and the First and Second Departments of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
When not working, Scott is an avid softball player and regularly plays pickup basketball in a weekly Sunday morning game. He also enjoys coaching youth travel baseball and basketball, traveling, bungee jumping, watching his beloved New York Mets and spending time with his wife, Heather, and their two children.
