Shari D. Smith is a Partner in the Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami offices of Resnick & Louis, P.C.. She is an experienced insurance defense litigator who focuses her practice in the areas of first party property defense, construction defect litigation, bodily injury defense, and general civil litigation. Prior to joining Resnick & Louis, Shari was a civil litigation attorney at preeminent mid-size Florida law firms servicing clients in the areas of medical malpractice, health care defense, nursing home negligence, first party property defense, general liability, professional liability, employment and labor law matters involving discrimination, commercial litigation, sexual harassment, retaliation under Title VII, and class action wage and hour disputes as well as commercial and complex business litigation with an emphasis on representation of directors and officers, agents and brokers, and community association matters. Shari has experience negotiating early resolutions on a multitude of cases, taking matters to trial and handling appellate issues.
Furthermore, during law school Shari clerked for the Honorable Justice R. Fred Lewis at the Florida Supreme Court, was a Dean's Honor Scholar and volunteered at the Florida Immigration Advocacy Center and Broward Outreach Center.
