Melissa J. Roose is a Partner in the Las Vegas office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. where her practice focuses on high liability exposure catastrophic loss cases involving significant bodily injury and wrongful death claims in accidents often involving tractor-trailers and/or motorcycles. She has represented clients throughout Nevada, California and Arizona from the pre-litigation claim stage through resolution via settlement or trial. Her business matters have included defending various corporate entities in claims involving property and groundwater contamination, diminution in value, and corresponding medical and health ailments as well as allegations of exposure to toxic chemicals in occupational hazard contexts. Melissa’s defense of property, business and landowners include individuals, employers and their employees, casinos and franchisors with a national presence and often involve matters with numerous negligence based claims and inadequate or lack of proper security and safety measures, among other things. Melissa also litigates professional liability matters including representing real estate brokers and agents (obtaining a defense verdict as second chair trial counsel) and appraisers throughout the administrative proceedings, to include before the Advisory Review Committee, and litigation. Melissa’s construction defect defense experience has included the defense of developers, general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in matters of complex class action litigation to single home cases. Further, Melissa also has extensive experience in SIU cases.
Melissa has over 20 years in practice with personal clients in the transportation and retail industries. Her trucking and transportation practice ranges from single owner-operators to large corporate fleets nationwide, and her retail clients also have a national presence
Melissa has successfully obtained dismissals of cases via pre-trial motions in both State and Federal Courts and has obtained excellent results while representing clients at mediation, arbitration and trial. She has represented clients at jury trials throughout the state of Nevada to include obtaining defense verdicts as lead counsel with no second chair.
