William Parra is a Partner in the New York office at Resnick & Louis P.C. William has 25 years of New York state and federal court litigation, insurance coverage and risk-transfer experience. He represents municipalities, commercial property owners, general contractors, construction managers and every type of trade and roadway contractor in New York Labor Law, negligence and auto personal injury actions. He has handled or supervised hundreds of such claims through mediation, appeal and second-seating of trial, for both primary and excess casualty insurance carrier units. He has acted as trial monitoring and appellate trial monitoring counsel for excess carriers. He excels in identifying innovative and cost-effective solutions to successfully resolve claims on behalf of his municipal, construction and real estate industry clients.

He also focuses on the representation of condominiums, HOAs, cooperatives and their property managers in personal injury, property damage and related subrogation actions, including the relevant analysis of by-laws, declarations, leases and related coverage and risk-transfer issues.

He also specializes in insurance coverage-related issue analysis and litigation, primarily involving commercial general liability, excess and automobile insurance policies. He is regularly consulted to provide his opinion on the interplay between contractual indemnity and insurance coverage obligations, the scope of additional insured coverage, priority of coverage between primary and excess insurers, tenders and disclaimers, single vs. multiple occurrences and bad faith.

William has successfully argued appeals before New York’s First and Second Department Appellate Divisions. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys running, traveling with his beautiful wife and children and (begrudgingly) coaching his children in CYO baseball.
