Lanita Morgan is a Partner in the Dallas and San Antonio offices of Resnick & Louis, P.C. and has extensive litigation experience in products liability, insurance defense, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, premises liability, breach of warranty claims in transportation, environment, contaminants and toxic tort, business torts, commercial litigation, and organizational misconduct. Lanita also has significant experience in handling the investigation and litigation of complex employment law matters, representing both private and public sector clients regarding Title VII, The Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age and Employment Discrimination Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Lanita has extensive experience in state and federal courts across the country. In addition, Lanita has a breadth of experience managing complex civil litigation and extensive trial dockets throughout the state of Texas. She has represented corporate clients in complex litigation, including but not limited to, personal injury, products liability, environmental and commercial disputes including breach of contract, corporate fraud, promissory estoppel, misappropriation of trade secrets, and tortious interference.

Lanita’s experience further includes all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, dispositive and pre-trial motions, pleadings, mediations, voir dire, and first and second chair at jury trials. Lanita served as the lead associate for two consecutive month-long trials in North Carolina federal court, which rendered favorable defense verdicts in a multimillion-dollar case. In addition, Lanita obtained a favorable settlement to client after mediation involving breach of covenant non-compete clause. Further, Lanita served as second chair at a jury trial for a multi-plaintiff multimillion dollar case in Cook County, Illinois.

Prior to graduating from law school, Lanita served as the President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and was on the Dean’s List. Prior to attending law school, Lanita served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Sasebo, Japan and Norfolk, Virginia.

Lanita enjoys biking, running, yoga, reading, traveling internationally, cooking, and volunteering her time serving as an Executive Board Director for The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program, in addition to Austin Street Shelter and Second Saturday.
