Carol is a results-driven attorney with over 25 years of litigation experience. She has defended numerous high exposure lawsuits, including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases that involved burn, brain, orthopedic, and spinal cord injuries. She has defended a multitude of products liability lawsuits, with a particular concentration in medical products, recreational and gaming devices, vehicle parts, and farm related products, She has extensive insurance coverage experience, including the handling of declaratory relief, subrogation, and indemnification actions. She has authored numerous coverage opinions in such contexts as failure to tender and voluntary payments. Carol also has experience with first party property and coverage analysis, commercial litigation, automobile liability, as well as bad faith. She has assisted in the determination of coverage for unique claims such as the failure to tender and prejudice to carrier in the Los Angeles priest-pedophile lawsuits.
An experienced trial attorney, Carol has also defended her clients in hundreds of mediations and binding arbitrations. Carol's past experience as a volunteer mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Courts has provided her with unique insight into the dispute resolution process. She has successfully resolved numerous lawsuits for clients who had low policy limits in the context of high risk cases.
A strong supporter of healthcare advocacy, Carol has served as a State Project Leader and member of the Elite President's Council for the National Patient Advocate Foundation and is a Red Cross Disaster Relief Volunteer.
She is licensed to practice before all of the Courts in the State of California, the U.S. District Court, the Central and Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth District.
Carol received her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College whereat she was an Alden Scholar and obtained her doctor of jurisprudence at Pepperdine University School of Law.
