Kathryn Desire is an Associate at the Fort Lauderdale office of Resnick & Louis, P.C.. Kathryn's practice has included experience in the areas of 1st party property insurance defense, 3rd party insurance defense, hospitality and retail defense, foreclosure, workers' compensation, and various other areas, servicing clients ranging from insurance companies and construction firms to homeowners' associations and more. Kathryn has extensive experience with First Party Appraisal of claims. Additionally, she has knowledge of the first party property and windshield claims, as well as litigating and handling the assignment of benefit claims. Kathryn has handled cases from inception to close, including negotiating settlement, reaching alternate resolutions, and trial preparation.
Kathryn was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Miami, FL. She obtained her undergraduate degrees from Florida International University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in English and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Kathryn then attended the University of Miami School of Law on a Dean's Honor Scholarship, where she served as President of the Black Law Students Association and Articles Editor of the UM Race and Social Justice Law Review, and earned a CALI Book Award in the Health & Elder Law Clinic. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2011.
Kathryn is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida and United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
