Kila Lynn Bobier is an Partner Trial Attorney in the Dallas office of Resnick & Louis, P.C., Kila Lynn has extensive litigation experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, bodily injury defense, premises liability, subrogation, and bad faith claims. As an experienced litigator, Kila Lynn regularly represents insurance companies in complex legal matters where she serves as lead trial counsel, engaging with expert witnesses, handling depositions, case analysis, and leading litigation focus groups.
Kila Lynn is a former Judicial Law Clerk, serving in the First Judicial District in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kila Lynn started her legal career in public interest law with roles as both an Assistant District Attorney as well as an Assistant Public Defender. These roles allowed Kila Lynn to gain copious trial experience all while fighting for social justice, juvenile rehabilitation, and indigent clients’ access to legal representation. Kila Lynn also served as an arbitrator for the Caddo Parish school district; presiding over cases dealing with the termination of tenured school district employees. Kila Lynn then established herself as an experienced civil litigator in the realm of insurance law. Kila Lynn also served as in-house counsel for one of the largest, minority owned insurance companies in the nation.
Kila Lynn graduated summa cum laude, as Valedictorian, from Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. Kila Lynn gives back to her alma mater by speaking to students about pathways to becoming a lawyer and attending recruiting events. She has also been an invited CLE presenter on various DE&I, mental health, and insurance law issues at various conferences and legal organizations throughout the country.
As an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion and equal access to justice, Kila Lynn serves on various committees and boards. She is a past Diversity Committee Chair of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. She also served as an Executive Board Member for the National Bar Association’s (NBA) Women Lawyers Division (WLD). She was elected and sworn in as a Member at Large of the NBA’s WLD at the annual convention in Toronto, Canada in the summer of 2017. Kila Lynn received the prestigious WLD Chair’s Award for her work for the NBA’s 2019 Mid Year’s conference held in Dallas, TX in March of that year. Moreover, Kila Lynn served as the WLD Retreat Chair for the 2019 Annual Convention in New York City. Kila Lynn is also a member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and was selected for the 2018-2019 Leadership Class. She currently serves as a DAYL Fellow. She also served on the Executive Board of the J.L. Turner Legal Association; she served two terms as Recording Secretary. She is a former member of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s House of Delegates Committee and Legislative Committee. Kila Lynn is a current member of the NBA’s Insurance Law section and the Dallas Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice section.
Kila Lynn also gives back to her community through her volunteerism through active membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she has served as the Scholarship Chair. She has also been an active member of the Junior League for over a decade, giving back to her community through countless hours of volunteer work each year. She served in leadership positions with the Junior League by serving as the Project Chair for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and the Diversity and Inclusion Assistant Chair. Additionally, since the 2017-2018 school year, Kila Lynn has been the attorney advisor for Wilmer Hutchins high school’s Mock Trial Team. Kila Lynn’s greatest accomplishment is that of being a mother and she enjoys spending time with family when not upholding the rule of law in the courtroom.
